Ward 2 Bridges Next? Jelly Fish

IT’S STARTING

Dark forces dropped the I-35W Bridge because there’s no way that bridge could have collapsed like that, all at once. Think I’m crazy for saying this? Well, check out www.429truth.com. After posting the video of the bridge collapse they say it proves that the 458 foot span took 4 seconds to collapse "neatly into its footprint", at nearly free fall speeds.

Then of course there are the eye witness accounts in which people report hearing "explosions", "loud booms" and other "popping sounds". Then there is the MnDot press release hours warning people to stay off the bridge hours before. Taken together, these disparate events "prove" sabotage from dark forces in our government.

So, how are our politicians any different from the crazies, when there is a headlong rush to pick our pockets? Take slimy Ranger Jim Oberstar and the rest of the politicians who want to raise the federal and state gas tax for example.

Oberstar said recently that you should look for help from the heavens if you disagree with his proposed five cent federal gas tax increase, because you clearly just don’t know anything about the future.

Oberstar makes this statement on the same day that a New York Times story suggests that the actual design of the bridge and construction load may have had more to do with the collapse than infrastructure deterioration. Yep, put all who disagree in the box.

Damn you, if you are one of those reasonable people saying we might want to wait to find out what caused the bridge to collapse before we start making policy! Don’t you people know? Taxes don’t matter if we can save one life! Spare no expense! What do you want Minnesota to be, Florida?

Don’t you dare talk about earmarks, which are taking over the federal budget! Don’t you dare suggest we use a nearly 2.5 billion dollar state budget surplus to address some of these infrastructure issues! Don’t you dare mention that the federal government has already guaranteed two hundred fifty million dollars for bridge rebuilding! Don’t you dare question the imperative, that if someone meets their demise, it’s the government’s fault and only more spending can atone for it! Don’t you dare talk about my highway to nowhere in my district in Northern Minnesota, we’re talking about saving lives! We’re talking about the children!

Tell your representatives. Not a penny more! No special session to raise the state gas tax. Summarily veto any attempt to use this event to force an increase in the federal or state gas tax. Not one more penny for these charlatans until they clean up their own house!

Don’t let them get away with it.

Buh Bye

DETROIT (Aug. 2) - Road construction put Detroit Pistons coach Flip Saunders on the 10th Avenue bridge Wednesday in Minneapolis.

The detour perhaps saved his life.

Pistons coach Flip Saunders came close to being one of the victims of the I-35W bridge collapse in Minneapolis, a tragedy which put sports in perspective in the Twin Cities.

"I usually take the 35W bridge, but the ramp was closed," Saunders said Thursday from Minneapolis in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. "My daughter was driving in a car right behind me when the bridge collapsed - about 20 yards away from us. It sounded like a bomb when it dropped.

"I got out of my car and the first thing I heard was the kids screaming on the bus. I called 911. I didn't really know what else I could do."

Saunders, a former Minnesota Timberwolves coach, was driving home after speaking at Tubby Smith's basketball camp at the University of Minnesota, where Saunders starred as a player.

"A day later, I'm still in a surreal state of mind," he said. "I can still see what happened. It's kind of like having flashbacks."

Divers checked submerged cars in the Mississippi River on Thursday for victims still trapped beneath the twisted steel and concrete slabs of a collapsed bridge.

The eight-lane Interstate 35W bridge, a major Minneapolis artery, was in the midst of repairs when the bridge buckled during the evening rush hour Wednesday. Dozens of cars plummeted more than 60 feet into the river, some falling on top of one another. A school bus sat on the angled concrete.
